Having a generator is useful in the event of sudden failures or power outages – thanks to the generator, the uninterrupted operation of key electrical devices is possible. Power generators are currently used in production plants, restaurants, wedding houses and hospitals, but owners of single-family houses also often decide to purchase them. When choosing a generator, you must first take into account the type of fuel that powers the device. The most popular solutions include gasoline-powered generators and diesel generators. Which option will be best for you? If you are wondering what to buy: a petrol or diesel generator, read on!

A gasoline powered generator is an option primarily for people looking for a generator intended for use, for example, in private homes or recreational plots, i.e. for the so-called individual recipient. Gasoline is still one of the most popular fuels, mainly due to its easy availability.

Gasoline-powered generators are devices usually with a power of 6 kW, which are relatively cheap – prices start from about PLN 500, which is why they are popular with buyers with a limited budget. On average, you have to pay about PLN 1,500-3,000 for a gasoline-powered generator.

Their small size means that no matter how much space you have, you will easily find a place where the generator will fit.

Gasoline generators usually have a very simple design, which reduces the costs of future repairs and maintenance.

Diesel generators are a solution for users who need generators that can obtain high power. The recipients of this type of generators are usually large enterprises, industrial plants, office buildings, hospitals, hotels and SPAs, Data Center facilities and many other companies belonging to the so-called B2B sector.

The cost of purchasing a generator equipped with a diesel engine is higher than in the case of gasoline generators, but they are relatively cheaper to operate because they consume less fuel during operation, which is worth taking into account when analyzing the prices of the devices. Additionally, purchasing diesel fuel is less expensive than purchasing gasoline.

Diesel generators are characterized by very high durability, which is why they perform well in difficult conditions. These types of engines are usually quite durable, so purchasing this type of generator is a long-term investment. At the same time, you must remember to service the device regularly.
