Both solutions are proven and reliable, but they differ fundamentally in design, operation, and optimal application.<\/p>\n<h3 data-sourcepos=\"3:1-3:45\">Differences in Operation and Construction<\/h3>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"5:1-5:212\"><strong>Gas Gensets (Gas Engines &#8211; e.g., Caterpillar):<\/strong> These operate on the principle of an internal combustion engine. This makes them excellent for producing <strong>high-pressure steam for industrial processes<\/strong>, achieving overall system efficiency of up to 90% or more. Gas turbines, thanks to technologies like Solar Turbines&#8217; SoLoNOx, are known for <strong>low emissions<\/strong>. They do not require additional DeNOx systems like gas gensets.<\/p>\n<hr data-sourcepos=\"43:1-43:3\" \/>\n<h4 data-sourcepos=\"45:1-45:25\">Space and Dimensions<\/h4>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"47:1-47:134\"><strong>Gas Turbines:<\/strong> Often offer <strong>higher power density<\/strong> (more power in a smaller footprint), which is beneficial when space is limited.<\/p>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"49:1-49:272\"><strong>Gas Engines:<\/strong> While effective, they take up significantly more space and are heavier than gas turbines of comparable power.
