To better understand HVO&#8217;s performance and environmental impact as a diesel engine fuel, Caterpillar conducted a comparative study of diesel fuel and HVO fuel in a CAT C175-20 generator set. The results showed that exhaust emissions for HVO fuels were significantly lower compared to diesel. The generator set&#8217;s startup time was faster with HVO than with diesel, and HVO&#8217;s transient response was equal to or slightly better. When operating on HVO, the engine was able to achieve full rated power in the C175-20 generator set, although the required fuel delivery was <strong>1.5% higher<\/strong> than with diesel fuel at rated load. Ultimately, NOx emissions did not differ significantly at typical load points (i.e., <strong>0-15% and &gt;50% load<\/strong>). Therefore, the results of this test, particularly concerning HVO&#8217;s impact on power output, fuel consumption, exhaust emissions, transient response, and startup time, are expected to be similar for other CAT\u00ae generator set models when transitioning from diesel to HVO fuel.<\/p>\n<h2 data-sourcepos=\"33:1-33:28\">HVO on the Polish Market<\/h2>\n<p data-sourcepos=\"35:1-35:305\">In the Polish market, HVO fuel is gaining popularity.
