When deciding to replace parts for your CAT engine, you usually have a choice of original or replacement parts. As of now, there is another option: remanufactured parts, or “REMAN.” What is the remanufacturing process and how much can you save on it?<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Faced with a difficult economic situation, users of power equipment and engines for industrial machinery are looking for more and more opportunities to meet their needs with products of high quality, at the same time satisfying in price and with the fastest possible delivery time. If, in addition to all this, their decisions are also beneficial for the environment, the sense of satisfaction with the choice made is even greater.<\/p>\n

At the end of the day, customers faced with a choice: an original part or its replacements, are now more likely to opt for the latter option. They choose remanufactured parts (REMAN)<\/strong><\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Remanufacturing of parts in CAT equipment and machinery is not a new thing. However, not all customers have a full understanding of how the CAT parts remanufacturing programme works in practice.<\/p>\n

CAT REMAN, or giving a choice<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Remanufacturing in the REMAN<\/a> programme allows you to restore a worn-out part or engine to factory condition. Within this option, each component gets a new life with a certified repair at the CATERPILLAR factory.<\/p>\n

Introducing replacement parts for resale after their factory remanufacturing turns out to be an excellent alternative and is gaining more and more supporters.<\/p>\n

On the one hand, we have a replacement part that meets all factory quality standards, on the other hand, it is much cheaper.<\/p>\n

The list of replacement parts and components eligible for remanufacturing is very long and includes complete engines and engine accessories (heads, blocks, turbochargers, injection pumps, DPF filters and others).<\/p>\n

Users of equipment such as power generators<\/a> and CAT engines<\/a> are interested in obtaining the above-mentioned remanufactured parts and components. However, before the parts or CAT REMAN components in question reach the customer, they undergo a meticulous technical inspection at CAT factories. There are specially dedicated “CAT REMAN<\/a>” departments there, which are responsible for the entire inspection process.<\/p>\n

It is important to emphasise that this is a process of complete remanufacturing of a part or component, not a rebuild or repair. During remanufacturing, we give the customer a guarantee that each component of the subassembly has been completely dismantled and thoroughly checked. Each remanufactured component must pass performance tests, the same as those used for new parts and subassemblies.<\/p>\n

Do remanufactured CAT parts come with a warranty?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

It goes without saying that replacement parts and components that are fitted to CAT equipment after remanufacturing must have a warranty. For components purchased under the remanufacturing programme, it is the same as for new parts. This means that any part purchased under the CAT REMAN programme is subject to the full manufacturer’s warranty.<\/p>\n

How much can you save on CAT REMAN remanufactured parts?<\/h2>\n

The savings for the redistribution of factory-remanufactured parts are enormous. They affect not only the environment, because the parts, instead of going to the scrap yard, are expertly repaired, but especially the customer’s wallet because CAT REMAN parts are significantly cheaper than new ones. Their value when using the CAT Reman programme can be 50% or more compared to the new part, which ultimately makes a huge difference to the customer.<\/p>\n

Caterpillar has its own pricing policy for remanufactured replacement parts. In any case, however, you are assured that such a part meets all factory strength and quality standards and has a warranty like a brand-new part, while being significantly cheaper than such a part.<\/p>\n

By returning a defective part or component, you can also count on additional discounts. The deposit for the return of a worn but not mechanically damaged part significantly reduces the cost of purchasing a remanufactured part<\/a>. The amount of reimbursement can be up to 100% of the value of such a deposit. Details of the procedure and returns of used parts can be found in the pdf file<\/a>.<\/p>\n

At Caterpillar, parts, as well as entire engines under CAT REMAN factory remanufacturing, are about 30-50% cheaper than new parts, and the aftermarket for remanufactured parts is huge. Thus, in an era of shortages of new components, REMAN parts represent a reasonable compromise between quality and price.<\/p>\n

The use of our remanufactured parts and a transparent programme policy mean that financial expenses related to logistics and equipment downtime are reduced, and our customers can rest easy knowing that their equipment or machinery is running on 100% serviceable components.<\/p>\n
