The price of energy is expected to rise significantly in the coming years. At the same time, it is predicted that the demand for energy in the agricultural sector will increase. Solar PV seems to be an ideal solution to this problem.<\/h5>\n

Farms consume a considerable amount of electricity. As a result, electricity is often responsible for 15-20% of the total cost of running an agricultural business. What is more, forecasts indicate a significant rise in energy prices in the coming years. Meanwhile, farmers seek further development. Their farms and crops are subject to an ever-increasing degree of automation and mechanisation, and are thus becoming… more and more energy-intensive.<\/p>\n

Why solar PV?<\/h5>\n

The countryside is an ideal location for PV installations. Sunlight can easily reach the panels, so there is no problem finding a suitable place for them \u2013 both roofs of farm buildings as well as low-quality arable land (classified below the 4th class) are perfect for this purpose.<\/p>\n

When selected properly, a PV installation can almost completely reduce the electricity bill (all that remains are the fixed costs)!<\/h5>\n

Solar PV modules produce electricity all year round, even in winter. The surplus energy produced by an installation with the capacity of up to 50 kWp will be \u201cstored\u201d in the grid, from which such energy can be withdrawn at a different time. In other words, there is high-volume production in summer so that the excess energy can be collected in winter. This solution can also considerably improve the quality of the farm\u2019s power supply. An agricultural entrepreneur can additionally decide to combine solar PV with a power generator or an energy storage system in order to gain complete independence in relation to power cuts. Now is the best time to opt for a PV installation. Those who wish to invest in this solution can now benefit from co-funding under EU and regional support programmes. In addition, the new year is expected to bring new forms of support for the development of eco-friendly solutions related to the production of electricity for own use.<\/p>\n

Poland\u2019s energy transition is currently being fostered also by banks, which offer special forms of financing for green investments. For example, various loan offers include products dedicated to solar PV.<\/p>\n
