It is the lightest atom, with the simplest structure, and yet accounts for ca. 75% of the total mass in the Universe. A large part of the energy available on Earth comes from hydrogen, as during a nuclear fusion occurring in the Sun hydrogen nuclei are combined to form helium, with large amounts of energy emitted at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>In practice, there are several colors of hydrogen. To initiate the chemical reaction, electricity from renewable sources, such as wind farms or photovoltaics, needs to be used. Electricity flowing through water splits its particles into hydrogen [H<sub>2<\/sub>] and oxygen [O<sub>2<\/sub>].
